Time limits vary by location. Time limits at metered locations can range from 15 minutes to as long as 8 hours. In most areas, the maximum duration is 2 hours; however, some areas may have longer maximum durations during the evenings and weekends. Parking time limits are posted on each meter.
In Ybor City, all on-street parking spaces are free, however, are restricted to a 2-hr maximum time limit. Additional restrictions also apply in residential parking areas within Ybor City. All restrictions are displayed prominently with signs located on each block.
*Please note that parking restrictions are not limited to hours of operations and will be enforced at all times. Parking restrictions include but are not limited to No Parking Zones, Fire Lanes, Fire Hydrants, Disabled Parking, blocking driveways, etc.
ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Accessible Meters
The present on-street disabled parking inventory consists of thirty-three (33) designated spaces located throughout the downtown core area. Florida State Statute Chapter 553.5041(4b) states that there must be one (1) accessible parking space for each 150 metered on-street parking spaces provided by state agencies and political subdivisions. The City of Tampa meets and exceeds this total as we currently provide one (1) accessible space per every 43 on-street spaces within the downtown core. The disabled patron must display his/her disabled placard or have a disabled license plate to park in these spaces. Additional information on disabled parking can be found here.
